Hey, I’m Emily! I’m gonna be really honest with you here- I used to SUCK at money. I had over $40,000 in debt (a whole lotta student loans), 0 savings, and a pretty embarrassing credit score. I was always terrified to check my account balance and never knew what I was doing on payday (how much of your paycheck are you actually supposed to save, anyway?!). I thought that making a budget meant a lot of restriction- I hated budgeting because I thought it was about taking things out of my life 🙁

So, I started to work on changing the mindset I had around money.

I listened to every podcast, talked to everyone around me, and watched so many videos. I won’t lie, I was feeling lost- I felt like I just didn’t make enough money to get to where I wanted to be.

It took years of trial and error, but now…

I’m SO happy to say that I’m totally DEBT FREE (!!), which I never ever thought would happen! I was able to go from never saving money to having a fully funded emergency fund (no more stress about what to do on a rainy day)!! And I don’t lead a life of restriction- I shop, I dine out, and I travel. I just make sure to take care of my money goals first 🤓. Here’s the key: when I first started budgeting, I didn’t have the right mindset at all- it was boring, I wasn’t motivated to do it, and I felt weighed down by the stress of my debt.

I knew I needed to make a BETTER budgeting experience- the one I wished I had from day one.

So I decided to share my step-by-step strategy with the world…and guess what? It took off!!! (here’s our super awesome collection of templates that have now been downloaded over 25,000 times!!)

I’ve worked with so many of you and I kept hearing over and over again that our templates made budgeting FINALLY make sense!

I love it when I can see it click for someone else- and they see that they already have the power to change their financial situation.

I have a degree in business, but I can tell you this- you don’t need to be good with numbers to achieve your money goals!! I KNOW you can do this, no fancy training required 🙂
